Strung up in trees at intervals along the central Rwenzori mountain trail, these metal cage-style stretchers represent one of the only forms of mountain rescue available in this hard-to-access range. Should an accident happen or a member of the party become unwell, the afflicted person will be carried back down the mountain in one of these.
